I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And you know, it's been five days because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would eb a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help, with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well off, as slow as possible. I mean the red Cross is already doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way - and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us.
Back to Meyers. Back to West.
George Bush doesn't care about black people.

The entire thing is too emotional, wow. I can't believe he had the courage to say what he really thought. Watching it on video, you get that shocked look that Mike Myers shot his way right after he accused Bush of not liking black people. The entire time he spoke, Mike was thinking, "why aren't you following the script?"
-
Rick, sometimes you can't see past your own nose.
-
Mike...you hate Bush. So I was already in the hole with you before I posted this. I have no problem with people who don't like our president, but at least form complete thoughts before you speak. He sounded like a 4 year old.
-
Well, didn't you know that it's Bush's fault that Katrina hit? I mean it's one of his presidental powers - controlling natural disasters. He was also behind the tsumani.
-
What the Hell are you talking about? A complete thought?! How bout completing your own sentence when saying someone else doesn't complete theirs? (see the second sentence of your post).
Also, you know Im no hip hop fan but Kanye is no idiot. He has a point. Haven't you heard the unbiased accounts from people trapped in the Super Dome? Kanye was nervous and he was ignoring the teleprompter like any person who forms their own opinions would on a subject like this. This is also an emotional subject for anyone, imagine feeling as if you or your own people were wrongly singled out as making it worse. Give him some credit for speaking his mind in that forum... oh but Im sure you would have handled yourself much better and rattled off something completely profound had you been in his shoes, right?
No one blamed Bush for the Hurricane. I don't even know where that comment came from. But what kind of President (or man, for that matter) publically praises the man in charge of relief efforts only to demote him behind closed doors shortly thereafter? A man who is more concerned with saving face than saving lives, thats who. Bush is notorious for never admitting wrong doing. He may have said the efforts were "unacceptable" but that didnt even scratch the surface. You won't hear him admit that part of the problem is that HE sent all of our resources overseas to fight a needless war, will you?
-
The second sentence of my post was intended. As if to say he never completed a sentence.
I'm not even going to get into with you about politics. We've never seen eye to eye on that stuff.
"President Bush hates black people". That's ridiculous.
Wrong time and wrong forum to bring his personal feelings into the mix.
And last time I checked you or were not the president, so who can say a war is needless or what he did on any particular subject was wrong? Personally I think life is too short to get all worked up about politics.
-
The point of Democracy is to question and form the decisions of our appointed leaders. Speaking of life being too short, Bush's choices have sure cut a WHOLE LOT of lives short.
